The 5 experiences you should not miss

If you love Halloween, the spooky vibe and the characters that step straight out of films, the festival has more than twenty things to do. These five are the ones people asked for again.

1. The Halloween Escape Room

This is not an existing room with pumpkins by the door. It is a themed scenario built for the festival alone — it runs three days a year and then disappears. Last year it was put together with Mastermind Escape Room, and the queue never emptied.

Four of us went in, three came out. The fourth one is still talking about it.

2. Horror Movie Night

A corner designed like a living room you would not want to be alone in: low light, sound that surrounds you, and screenings that run from horror classics to the Halloween films everyone has seen and watches again.

3. The Spooky Market

This is the heart of it. Dozens of small Greek businesses making things you will not find in any shopping centre:

  • Gothic jewellery and handmade accessories
  • Scented candles with a horror theme
  • Decorative props and masks
  • Clothing and fantasy art
  • Mystery and fantasy books
  • Carnivorous plants with a dark aesthetic

If you are looking for a present for someone who “has everything”, the search ends here.

4. Themed characters & cosplays

Live characters out of films, urban legends, comics and pop culture move through the crowd. Some pose. Some do not. There is also a cosplay contest, where the standard goes up every year.

5. Photo booths & workshops

The photo spots are built like film sets, not like a backdrop for a selfie. And next to them, the workshops: you learn zombie make-up, you make your own horror mask, and you leave with whatever you made.

And next year?

In 2026 all of this comes back in a new venue — the Old OSY Depot in Gazi — with more height, more darkness and a second stage. The full programme goes up in September.
